Overview

What it's like to intern here

Most of our interns in Taiwan work in Taipei for software companies, marketing agencies and trading firms in Neihu, Xinyi, Zhongshan and Songshan. Software interns work on web and app features, marketing interns write content and run campaigns, and business interns support sales and supply chain teams. GoAbroad named AIP Top Rated for Taiwan in 2025 and again in 2026.

The MRT is quick and clean, with English signs, and convenience stores and YouBike rentals make everyday life easy. After work, night markets, hot springs and hiking trails are all within reach of the MRT network.

Why Taiwan

Night markets after work

Shilin, Raohe and Ningxia night markets serve beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes and bubble tea, a few MRT stops from most offices.

Hot springs and mountains

Beitou's hot springs are on the MRT, Elephant Mountain is a short climb above Xinyi, and Yangmingshan is a bus ride away.

Weekends around the island

Jiufen and the Pingxi line are day trips, and the high-speed rail reaches Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung in a few hours.

Your internship

What the job teaches you

Work in Taiwan's tech supply chain

Many Taipei hosts build or sell electronics, software and components for clients abroad. Interns research markets, support product teams and prepare English material.

Get clear tasks and feedback

Taiwanese hosts usually set clear projects, with a supervisor who checks progress. You learn step by step and see your work put to use.

Pick up some Mandarin

Menus, markets and lunch talk are in Mandarin. Many interns leave with enough to order food and get around.

FAQ

Your questions, answered

Can I intern in Taipei if I only speak English?

Yes. We place you with companies that work in English. Mandarin is useful for daily life, but you don't need it for the job.

What visa do I need for an internship in Taiwan?

Visa assistance is included in every program. We confirm your visa route before you pay the deposit and prepare the documents your embassy asks for.

Which fields can I intern in?

Popular fields include business development, software engineering, engineering, supply chain, renewables and environmental science.

Where will I live in Taipei?

Traveler interns get Standard housing: furnished accommodation where you share the apartment with other interns and have your own bedroom. A same-gender apartment can be arranged on request. Pioneer interns get Premium housing: a private apartment to yourself, with your own bedroom and bathroom. We vet every place, and it's within about an hour of your office by public transport, usually near an MRT station. Explorer doesn't include housing, so you choose where you live.

What's the difference between Explorer, Traveler and Pioneer?

Every program includes your internship placement, visa assistance and 24/7 emergency support, and Explorer is exactly that. Traveler, our most popular program, includes Standard housing, airport pickup and a pre-arrival orientation. Pioneer includes Premium housing, airport pickup, a preloaded transport card and SIM card, a first-day drop-off at your office and tours.

Can I get university credit for my internship?

Yes, if your university accepts it: we provide the documents it needs (internship agreement, placement confirmation, supervisor evaluation and a host certificate of completion). The university decides whether and how much credit to give.
