Paying
How paying works
Nothing to pay until you're accepted.
Refer a friend: $200 off for both of you
When you apply, you get a personal referral code. Your friend gets $200 off when they apply with it, and you get $200 off your final payment for every friend who pays a deposit. 3 friends, $600 off.

1. Programs, costs and refunds
How much does an internship with AIP cost?
It depends on the destination, the program and the length. Prices start at $2,050 for Explorer, $2,300 for Traveler and $3,500 for Pioneer (6 weeks, lowest-priced destination). See every price on our pricing page.
What's included in each program?
Every program includes your internship placement, visa assistance, CV and career consultation, a certificate from your host company and 24/7 emergency support. Traveler also includes Standard housing, airport pickup and a pre-arrival orientation. Pioneer includes the same with Premium housing instead, plus preloaded transport and SIM cards, a drop-off on your first day at work and guided tours. Airport pickup means a pre-booked car waiting for you whenever you land, day or night, taking you straight to your housing.
What's the difference between Standard and Premium housing?
Standard housing (Traveler) is a furnished apartment, either your own or shared with other interns. In a shared apartment you have your own bedroom, except in Australia, India and Nepal, where you share a bedroom with another intern of the same gender. A same-gender apartment can be arranged on request. Bedrooms are never mixed gender. Premium housing (Pioneer) is a private apartment to yourself, with your own bedroom and bathroom; in some destinations the kitchen is shared. Bedroom and bathroom sharing depends on the destination, so check your destination page for details.
Are flights included?
No. Flights aren't included in any program: you book your own, and on Traveler and Pioneer we arrange your airport pickup, whatever time you land.
Which program is right for me?
Explorer suits interns who'd like to choose their own place to live: we find your internship and support you throughout. Traveler is our most popular program and the one we usually recommend: Standard housing and airport pickup included. Pioneer adds Premium housing, a transport card and SIM, a drop-off on your first day and guided tours. Some programs are only available in certain destinations.
How much is the deposit, and when do I pay the rest?
The deposit is $500 for every program, paid once you're accepted. The rest of your program fee is due within 5 days of your placement being confirmed, or 30 days before you start, whichever comes first.
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes, if we can't place you. If we accept you and can't find you a placement by your placement deadline (14 days before your start date), you get your full $500 deposit back, with no fees taken off. If you cancel, or turn down a placement that fits the field you chose, the deposit isn't refunded. All refunds follow sections 3 and 4 of our Terms & Conditions.
Are there discounts or funding options?
Refer a friend: when you apply, you get a personal referral code. A friend who applies with your code gets $200 off, and you get $200 off your final payment for every friend who pays a deposit. It adds up: 3 friends, $600 off (or Amazon gift cards if you've already paid in full). We also run promotions and discount codes from time to time; look out for them on our social channels and through partner universities. Some universities fund or discount our programs, and you may qualify for a scholarship or grant. See our funding page.
