Astana Overview
Astana became Kazakhstan's capital in 1997 and has been built up around that role ever since. Wide avenues, modern towers and government buildings line the center.
For interns, Astana is where policy, finance and tech meet. It hosts the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), which uses English common law and works in English, and the Astana Hub tech park for startups and IT companies.
Internship Opportunities in Astana
Internships in Astana are strongest in finance, law, consulting, technology and business development, often with organizations linked to the AIFC, international companies or the tech scene.
Russian and Kazakh are the languages of daily life. We look for host companies where English is used at work, and we match you on your field, your goals and your dates.
Astana Attractions
The Bayterek tower, the tent-shaped Khan Shatyr mall and the riverside parks are part of everyday life here. Winters are long and very cold, and summers are warm and bright, so the city changes completely with the seasons.

Almaty is the business center; Astana, the capital, is home to the Astana International Financial Centre.
Day-to-day costs are low compared with most of Asia and Europe.
