The internship

Day to day

I get to have experiences that I wouldn't normally have working in the US.

Intern

Tyler was a legal intern at a law firm in Thailand. His roles included writing [unclear] for the firm and going with the other lawyers to file documents at government buildings.

The working culture is “a lot different than that in the US”, but he learned a lot of new Thai words, met a lot of great people and had “experiences that I wouldn't normally have working in the US”.

On AIP: he's grateful for the friends he made through AIP, for having “a place to stay without having to look for it myself”, and for being placed in “a really great internship”.

Advice

What to know before you land

Take advantage of everything that Thailand has to offer, because you never know if you'll be back here again, and you're probably never going to have the experiences that you've had this summer.

Hi, my name is Tyler. I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I go to the University of Pennsylvania, and I am a legal intern at a law firm here. My roles include writing [unclear] for the firm and accompanying the other lawyers to file documents at government buildings.

How would I describe the working culture here? Well, obviously it's a lot different than that in the US, but I get to learn a lot of new Thai words, I get to meet a lot of great people, and I get to have experiences that I wouldn't normally have working in the US.

How was your time in Thailand? My time in Thailand has been really good so far. I've been to [unclear], to Phi Phi, Pattaya Beach, so I've been to both the north and the south. I've seen a lot of things, I've met a lot of elephants and a lot of great people, and I've had a lot of great food so far.

How do I find AIP's services? I'm definitely really grateful for all the amazing people and friends I've made through AIP, and I'm also really grateful for the fact that I've had a place to stay without having to look for it myself, and I was placed in a really great internship.

Advice for future interns would definitely be to take advantage of everything that Thailand has to offer, because you never know if you'll be back here again, and you're probably never going to have the experiences that you've had this summer.
