Interning abroad may be scary, but I think it's one of the most rewarding experiences that can be done.
Intern
Jonathan was the business development intern, helping the company roll out its own new brands. One of his projects was brand development: analyzing how to build a brand, how to advertise and find customers, and how that affects the company's bottom line.
On AIP: “You guys are very responsive to me. I know I had a lot of questions coming in … but the responses were very detailed, which I enjoyed, and they made coming to Singapore quite easy.” He adds: “My accommodations are very nice.”

My name is Jonathan, from South Carolina. I go to Furman University, [unclear] and political science double major with minors in [unclear]. I have an internship here at the company and I'm the business development intern. Basically what that is, is helping the company roll out some of their own brands that they're attempting to start. For example, right now one of the projects I'm working on is brand development: analyzing how one goes about building a brand, how to advertise and find consumers, and then figuring out how that impacts the overall bottom line of the company.
I'd say my time in Singapore has been very good. I'm definitely learning a lot about working over here, the good and the bad, and I'm enjoying the city a lot. I'm meeting a lot of vibrant new people, which I'm enjoying, and I like learning about the different culture.
Working with AIP I found actually to be very nice. You guys are very responsive to me. I know I had a lot of questions coming in and a lot of things that needed to be answered, but the responses were very detailed, which I enjoyed, and they made coming to Singapore quite easy. My accommodations are very nice. So overall I would say I had a good experience.
Interning abroad may be scary, but I think it's one of the most rewarding experiences that can be done. This is actually my second time traveling abroad, and I enjoyed both experiences very, very much. When you look back on it after you do it, you'll be so glad that you went abroad and got to experience a different culture, because you'll never have the opportunity to do something like this again in your life. So by all means, get out there and do it.
