Life in the city
His favorite part was traveling around Asia, including Koh Chang, and the conversations with people from completely different cultures “on just some random island in Asia”, hearing where they’re from and about their background. “It’s all just amazing.”

What to know before you land
The more you put yourself in challenging situations and throw yourself out of your comfort zone, the more beneficial that will be to you in the future, and in your career. Just say yes to as many things as you can, put yourself in those uncomfortable positions, and just go for it.

My name is Daniel. I study at Loughborough University in England, and I study international business. I’m working for a software development company in Bangkok. [unclear] are to increase the social media awareness [unclear].
During my internship, I think my favorite thing has just been traveling around Asia, really. Going to [unclear], Koh Chang, going with people from my work, and completely different cultures, having these conversations with [unclear] on just some random island in Asia about where they’re from, their background. It’s all just amazing.
I feel like there’s been a lot of support from AIP. The people who work there are lovely. You can go to them at any time of the day, you can send an email to Ken [unclear], and they’ll respond to you within probably an hour. There’s a lot of support from them, it’s been really good.
My advice is: the more you put yourself in challenging situations and throw yourself out of your comfort zone, the more beneficial that will be to you in the future, and in your career. You’ll just be able to do things a lot easier if you’re looking for that challenge [unclear] and that adversity. So just say yes to as many things as you can, put yourself in those uncomfortable positions, and just generally just go for it.
Transcript from YouTube’s automatic captions, lightly edited. [unclear] marks words the captions didn’t catch.
