The internship

Day to day

It's really an eye-opener for me to learn more and understand and explore.

Intern

Cerwyn was a sales and operations intern at a freight forwarding company in Bangkok. He helped the sales team find quotations and helped the operations team with documentation.

In the video his supervisor says the company likes to teach interns about freight forwarding in Southeast Asia, and that Cerwyn brought a bubbly personality to the team.

On AIP: they found him an internship in Thailand “at a very short notice”, suggested different places to go on holiday and gave him a list of basic Thai, like how to say hello and thank you. “They made my life really easy.”

What was surprising

Things nobody mentions

How different real work was from his studies. Documentation and other terms he had to learn at the company were things “I’ve never learned it in the university, so it’s really an eye-opener for me to learn more and understand and explore.”

Life after work

Life in the city

“Being in Thailand is really great.” Cerwyn traveled around different cities, went to a night market for food he highly recommends, and spent time on a lot of beaches.

Advice

What to know before you land

Use the opportunity not only to travel, but also to explore different countries. You may learn many new things from that country. I would highly recommend using AIP’s service. They will help you go through the procedure, and they will also give you a lot of advice on how to live and handle any situation in that country.

Hello, my name is Cerwyn. I study export-oriented management at IMC Krems, and I interned at a company here.

I’m a sales and operations intern that helps the salespeople team to find quotations, and also helps the operations team with documentation.

Working as an intern in the company, [unclear] how very different it is from what the university has taught. Documentation, [unclear] and any other extra terms that I had to learn from the company, I’ve never learned it in the university, so it’s really an eye-opener for me to learn more and understand and explore.

[His supervisor:] It was so nice to [unclear] in our community. We always welcome [unclear]. We always like to teach interns about freight forwarding in Southeast Asia, and [Cerwyn] definitely [unclear] a bubbly personality to our company, with his mentality that whatever you study in Europe, you can bring that along to our company. So I hope you enjoyed the experience. [unclear] our main goal, that interns learn about freight forwarding [unclear] and have a good time.

Being in Thailand is really great. I went to [unclear], went throughout the cities. I even went to the night market, very delicious food, highly recommend it. And I’ve also been to a lot of beaches, [unclear], and I also fed the elephants as well. They really, really [unclear].

AIP’s service was very helpful to me. They helped me with the visa procedure, they’ve also helped me with my passport procedures and so on. They even helped me find an internship here in Thailand at a very short notice. I’m very thankful for that. And they also helped me find very different places to go for vacation, [unclear] to explore. They also gave me a list of how the language works in Thailand, how to say thank you, how to say hello and so on. And yeah, I really enjoyed the services, and they made my life really easy. That’s all, thank you AIP.

The best advice I could ever give to anyone when they’re traveling to Thailand, or using AIP’s service: use it. Use the opportunity to not only travel to [unclear], but also to explore different countries. [unclear] you may learn many new things from that country. I would highly recommend using AIP’s service, and they will help you go through the procedure, and they will also give you many advices on how to live and also handle any situation in that certain country.

Transcript from YouTube’s automatic captions, lightly edited. Company name removed. [unclear] marks words the captions didn’t catch.
