What to know before you go
Software engineering in Seoul
Seoul is the center of Korea's tech industry. Many of the country's biggest internet, gaming and electronics companies have their headquarters or large teams in and around the city. Areas such as Gangnam and Seongsu are known for startups, so developers there often work close to product, design and content teams.
Korea is also one of the most connected countries in the world, so mobile-first products and fast release cycles are normal. As an intern you might work on apps, web services or testing, with a team that ships often. It's worth asking which language the team uses for tickets and chat. Roles can run from front-end and back-end to testing and design, depending on the team.
