Real estate internships in Asia and beyond
Market research, listings and Excel models for property teams.
Overview
What the internship is about
Real estate interns work with brokerages, developers, property managers and investment firms. You research prices, rents and new launches, build simple cash-flow models in Excel, prepare listings and brochures, and join viewings and client meetings with agents. Developer teams may add site visits and competitor research, while investment firms ask for market reports on a city or district. You don't need a real estate license.
A week mixes desk research with time out of the office at viewings, launches and site visits. Singapore and Thailand are our strongest destinations, followed by Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Why do it
What you'll get out of it
Research property prices, demand and local trends to support investment decisions. You learn to read a market from the data up, and to explain why one district beats another.
Join viewings and client meetings, and watch how agents negotiate deals. You'll see how trust, timing and local knowledge close a sale or a lease.
See how properties are run day to day, from tenant questions to maintenance and renewals. You learn what keeps a building full and its owners and tenants happy.
Your role
Help analyze potential investments and prepare reports on returns and risks.
Learn how a development moves from buying the land through construction to sales.
Research how global trends and foreign investment affect local property markets.

FAQ
Your questions, answered
What will I do on a real estate internship?
You'll help with property research, market reports, financial models, listings and client meetings, at agencies, developers or investment firms.
Do I need experience to get a real estate internship?
No. You don't need a real estate license. Business, finance, economics and architecture students all fit well.
What skills and tools will I use?
Mostly Excel and property databases. You'll learn how property is valued and how city planning affects prices.
Where can I do a real estate internship?
Popular destinations for real estate internships include Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Spain and Italy. Tell us where you'd like to go and we'll check what's possible.
Can I get university credit for my internship?
Yes, if your university accepts it: we provide the documents it needs (internship agreement, placement confirmation, supervisor evaluation and a host certificate of completion). Your university decides whether to give credit, and how much.
How much does it cost, and is it paid?
Programs start from $2,050 for 6 weeks on Explorer, depending on where you go. Most internships are unpaid.
