Architecture internship in Hong Kong
Support design teams with drawings, models and site research for architecture firms in Hong Kong.
What you'll do
Your day-to-day
As an Architecture intern in Hong Kong, you might:
- Help draw and update plans, sections and elevations.
- Build physical or 3D models for design reviews.
- Research planning rules, site conditions and materials.
- Prepare presentation boards and client slides.
- Help keep drawing sets and project files organized.
You'll build drafting and presentation skills and add pieces to your portfolio. Drawings are signed off by registered professionals, so you support the team and learn how a project moves forward.

Local know-how
What to know before you go
Architecture in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is a very densely built city, so architecture here is about making the most of limited land. Projects are often tall, mixed-use and close to transport. Public buildings are part of the picture too: the Hong Kong Institute of Architects' awards include public school and museum projects as well as commercial buildings and houses.
Architects in Hong Kong are registered under the Architects Registration Ordinance, and the Architects Registration Board keeps the register. As an intern you support the team and don't sign off on drawings or designs. Depending on your host, you might help with drawings, models, site research or presentations. Tell your career advisor which software you use and whether you have a portfolio, so we can look for the closest match.
