Local know-how
What to know before you go
Agriculture and food in Bangkok
Bangkok is Thailand's capital, where government, universities and food businesses meet. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives has its headquarters in the city, and its agencies cover areas such as rice, fisheries, livestock and irrigation. Most farms are outside the capital, so roles in Bangkok might focus on research, quality, food safety, trade, marketing and planning.
Depending on your host, you might help with research, data, product-testing records or reports, and some roles include visits to farms or labs. We don't publish host names, because openings depend on your dates and your field. Students in agriculture, food science, environment or business are welcome, and so are graduates and career changers. Visa assistance is included in every program.
