Kate Myat Noe

Community Manager

Kate Myat Noe is a Community Manager at Asia Internship Program (AIP) in Bangkok. Community Managers look after interns on the ground, and since joining AIP in 2024 Kate has supported interns from pre-departure to their days abroad. Originally from Myanmar, she has traveled solo to many cities and volunteered widely, including with the ASEAN Youth Organization, so she knows how exciting, and how overwhelming, a new place can be. She speaks Burmese and English, plus some Japanese and Korean, and interns know her for quick replies and calm, practical help. On this blog she writes about culture shock, life abroad and what to expect in destinations including Spain, Vietnam, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Australia, from etiquette and food to the cost of living. You can trust her advice because it comes from first-hand work with interns on the ground, helping them settle in and feel at home in a new country.
